Full Job Description
As a System Administrator, you make sure our entire IT and server infrastructure runs reliably, securely, and at full performance. You are the technical backbone our AI consultants and development teams build on every day: from GPU-powered ML servers and hybrid cloud environments to embedded systems in the field. You think ahead when it comes to infrastructure, always keeping availability, performance, and security in view, and you are the first point of contact when things get technical in day-to-day operations. You work closely with our development and product teams and create the stable foundation on which our own AI platform and Vision AI products are built and operated. You see yourself not as a mere administrator, but as an enabler: you make powerful, scalable AI applications possible in the first place – following our approach Analyse. Implement. Activate.
Your Responsibilities – From Use Case to Go-Live
- System administration & infrastructure management – You are responsible for administering our in-house and cloud server environments and network infrastructure.
- Server architecture for ML applications – You plan and expand our server landscape for machine learning workloads, including GPU-optimized hardware.
- Embedded & edge device management – You set up industrial PCs and embedded systems (e.g. Nvidia Jetson) and ensure their stable operation.
- OS stack development & system maintenance – You further develop our Linux-based OS stack and create system images, configuration profiles, and updates.
- IT security & compliance – You integrate security requirements into configuration, network design, and system operations in line with best practices.
- Virtualization & containerization – You help operate our services based on Proxmox, Docker, and Podman and are responsible for their high availability and backup concepts (e.g. with TrueNAS Scale).
- Network technology & performance optimization – You work with modern network technology up to 100 Gbit/s (e.g. Mikrotik, Unifi) to connect all systems.
- Cloud & SaaS management – You manage cloud infrastructures at Hetzner, Host Europe, AWS, or Azure and administer SaaS solutions such as Microsoft 365, HubSpot, and Sage 50.
- IT support & user care – You take technical responsibility for internal IT applications and user requests in day-to-day operations.
Your Profile – What You Bring
- You have completed vocational training (e.g. IT specialist for system integration) or a corresponding degree in IT.
- You have at least 5 years of experience in system and network administration – ideally in complex and hybrid system landscapes.
- You bring solid knowledge of Linux administration, virtualization (e.g. Proxmox), and containerization (e.g. Docker, Podman).
- You have a deep understanding of networks, hardware, embedded systems, and how they interact in productive operations.
- You have experience with cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and are able to operate hybrid environments securely.
- You are interested in topics around machine learning and artificial intelligence and enjoy exploring new technologies.
- You work independently, in a structured and solution-oriented way – and keep an overview even in dynamic situations.
- You have good written and spoken German and English skills and enjoy continuous learning.
What We Offer – More Than a Job
- A role with real creative power in a field that is just taking shape
- Collaboration with experienced AI consultants and development teams – over 60 experts behind you
- Our own AI platform and Vision AI products as tangible use cases for your work
- 20% R&D quota – we consistently invest in innovation and in your development
- Attractive compensation and bonus opportunities
- Flexible working hours and mobile work in coordination with team and client appointments
- Individual training opportunities – including certifications in the AI and infrastructure space
- Modern office in Leonberg with good transport connections
- Team events and a collegial working atmosphere
